Leg Pains after Cycling??

December 17, 2007

If you are suffering with leg pains after cycling, hope my tips will help you.

1. Don’t take hot water bath immediately, lactic acid accumulated in muscles during exercise will hurt you.  So, have a break or prefer cold water bath.

2. Don’t increase mileage suddenly, just build up mileage step by step. (Mile by Mile)

3. Seat must not above handle level, else you will end up with severe problems.

4. Are you paddling with your toes? If yes, decrease seat level if not possible change cycle. Cycling with pedels will strain entire leg and will result severe leg and toe problems.

5. Did you check your Hemoglobin results? Since after exercise, more blood supply is necessary for smooth tissues, if you are suffering with iron deficiency, that causes leg pains the whole day.

6. Why dont you spend 5 minutes for warm up?

7. Don’t pick up to full speed, give 5-10 mins for slow cycling before accelerating.

8. Decrease the mileage. Since too much exercise also responsible.

9.  Use B12 supplements since, lack of B12 also results in leg pains.

10. Adjust your seat so that, your leg will be straight when the pedal is at down.

11. Are you comforatable with shoes? Are they too tight?

12. Use shoes, since if you never exercised before, may be your sensitives foot will hurt.

13. Drink some water 30 mins prior to workout since, dehydration also a reason.

14. Last but not least, are you comfortable with your toilet seat? Its also one reason.

If your problem solved with my suggestion, ping back with comment.

Happy Cycling.
