Bollywood: Enough skin show, now work on Story line.

My blog readers may feel uncomfortable with my language in this post, please excuse me, but I am vexed with Hindi movies to that extent.

90% naked body, bare back, deep cleavages, tight ass show, mostly visible boobs, slightly visible nipples, nude back, hour long smouches, hero licking heroine like a dog, bottle comedy, two piece bikini, bikini with violin and thin underwear these never make a movie super duper hit or atleast an average movie. Bollywood movies making people to run away from theaters. Directors who followed such heroine oriented movies with out any story created record breaking box office flops. Naach, Ram Gopal Varma’s Aag, Go, ………………………….. I can name hundreds of such movies.

As a vivid Hindi movie fan, I used to spend hours and hours browsing Hindi movie channels, but thats past, but from past two years I never dared to touch any Hindi movie channel or turned up at any theater. Just look at bollywood hits from 2000, no movie did well at box office with just skin show. Veer Zaara, Chak De, Doom, Lagaan, Rang De Basanti, Fanaa, all these did well at box office not because of creative skin show, rather audience liked the screen play and story line.

After Murder created some sensation, bollywood directors started to use the same principle. Murder may created sensation but its not a block buster hit, it did well just like other movies of its genre. Our audience never liked such attitude, if they liked, Indian film industry will be ruled by Pornography and all theaters are pumped with blue films.

People go to movies, for enjoyment, relaxation and for fun. Sex and Crime never completely fill up pass time of people atleast Indians. I am mad fan of Ram Gopal varma, I watched his movie “Darna Mana Hai” about half a dozen times, I never missed any movie from Varma’s factory, but that’s history. After Shiva 2006 I think I never dare to touch Varma’s movies again.

Youth may dominate Indian population statistics but people of age 20-30 years may come alone to watch such porn in theaters, but what about people who come with families? Can I dare to watch movie “Murder”with my son? Do I dare to watch movie Naach with my wife? Never. We are not Americans just to ignore social restrictions, we can’t go work in nude. We can’t let our family members to show some skin with deep cut necks. If some one acts nude in a movie, I will just download that clip from internet and watch that for 100 times a day, but I can’t sit 3 hours for that small nude scene. DDLJ, Lagaan, Sholay, … did well in Guntur too. But after Lagaan I never saw a hindi movie to enter 3rd week in Guntur. Surrounded by 40-50 colleges, the Guntur youth rejected such bold show.

Even at hollywood, basic instinct created sensation but it never set any record. Many people followed same scenario afterwards but they never ended with success even in US. Such skin show may create some hype for the first time, but it can assure you that people will watch the entire movie for the sake of a few minutes. Even it lasts for hours the film will definitely doomed if it has no story and bad screen play, people will reject them et all. Aag is a good example for that, Nisha Kotari’s long skin show added to movies failure. Don, directed by 3 heroine ass show is a big failure. Recently, Go, earned more money to sites which show such clips online than the movie producer. Basic Instinct, Rangeela, Murder may create a temporary sensation, but they can’t create a revolution in movie industry.

After tons and tons of flop movies, I don’t know why directors still concentrate more on the skin show and completely ignore screen play and story? Heroines must notice that they are spoiling their lives with such shows, they never end up in heaven or can bag great money. Action, thats what they need not great figure. You can’t lure audience with your structure always, what matters is you capability to act. But how many heroines try to act? Thats why most heroines bag one or none hits in their entire film career.

Please Please, don’t fill up entire movie industry with so called hot show, please do come up with good ideas.
